Age Limit (As on July 1st, 2021)

For the candidates applying for the Librarian post, as per the UPPSC Librarian Eligibility for age, the age limit is set at 21 years to 40 years as on July 1 2021. For certain categories, there are upper age relaxations. The candidates must check the age requirements for their category.

Education Qualification

To recruit the best-qualified candidate for the post of Librarian in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, there is the requirement of certain educational qualifications that the candidate must satisfy. These qualifications are specified below: 

• The candidate must possess a Master's Degree in Library Science (First Class) or its equivalent. They must have a consistently good academic record, along with the knowledge of computers.
   
• The candidate must have cleared the National Level Test conducted by UGC or its equivalent tests as approved by the UGC.
   
• The librarians who have been recruited between 01-01-1996 and 15-03-2000 with the existing recruitment rules to be considered for up-gradation under CAS in the next higher grade of Senior Scale only. However, for further upward movement under CAS, they are required to acquire a minimum educational qualification in a manner similar to that as laid down in AICTE notification 2000 (Degree) and in subsequent clarifications/ notifications.

Nationality

As per the UPPSC Librarian eligibility criteria 2021, the applicants should be of Indian origin only. Candidates belonging to other states can also apply only if they possess a domicile of the State of Uttar Pradesh. It is necessary that the candidate shows proof that he/ she is a citizen of India.

Number of Attempts
