According to the latest update, various central government departments have submitted request for 7,090 vacancies under the SSC CGL 2025 recruitment cycle. However, it is expected that the total number of vacancies may exceed 10,000 posts once all departments is finalized after forwarding their requirements. SSC CGL Recruitment 2025 Application Fee
Candidates need to pay a Rs. 100 application fee when submitting their SSC CGL application form online at www.ssc.gov.in. However, women candidates and those from SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM categories are exempt from the fee. SSC CGL 2025 Selection Process
The SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level) examination is a multi-tier exam conducted to recruit candidates for various Group B and Group C posts in the Indian government. The selection process for SSC CGL 2025 involves several stages:
SSC CGL Tier I:
The Tier-I exam includes four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
- Each section consists of 25 questions carrying 50 marks, making a total of 100 questions and 200 marks.
- The exam duration is 1 hour (1 hour 20 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates).
- There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
- Except for the English Comprehension section, all questions will be available in both English and Hindi.
SSC CGL Tier II:
The Tier-II exam is conducted in two papers on separate days. Candidates can check the details of Paper I and Paper II from the following points.
- Paper-I (common for all posts):
- Section-I: Covers Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning & General Intelligence with 60 questions for 180 marks.
- Section-II: Includes English Language & Comprehension and General Awareness with 70 questions for 210 marks.
- Section-III: Consists of a Computer Knowledge Test with 20 questions for 60 marks and a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST).
- Total duration for Paper-I is 1 hour per section (1 hour 20 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates).
- Paper-II (for JSO & Statistical Investigator):
- Contains 100 questions carrying 200 marks.
- Duration is 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates).
Note: Negative marking is applicable for incorrect answers in both tiers.
SSC CGL 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The SSC CGL exam notification contains details of the eligibility criteria for this exam. The SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria are specified in terms of parameters such as age, qualification, etc. Those who do not meet these requirements will be disqualified
- The applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- The minimum age limit is 18 years and maximum age limit is 32 years as on August 1, 2025. Upper age relaxation is given to candidates from reserved categories as per government norms.
- The candidate must be either a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1962.

SSC CGL 2025 Hall Ticket
The Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC CGL Admit Card 2025 on its official website 15-20 days before the exam date. The Hall Tickets will be released on the region-wise websites of SSC. Candidates need to login to their account on the website and download the hall ticket by entering registration number and date of birth.
- The admit card will contain details like candidate's name, roll number, form number, gender, category, signature, left thumb impression, photograph, exam date, exam time and test center details.
- Along with the print out of admit card, candidates must carry one photo identity proof such as Aadhar Card, Pan Card, Voter ID or Driving License to the exam center, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

SSC CGL 2025 Result
The Staff Selection Commission declares the SSC CGL Result in a phase-wise manner on the official website. The final Result will be released on the basis of the marks obtained by candidates in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 stages of the SSC CGL Exam.
