The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has released the VITMEE 2023 Syllabus. The Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE) examination is administered by Vellore Institute of Technology University to offer admission to Master's courses in engineering such as mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, etc. The VITMEE Syllabus 2023 will differ depending on the subject preference of the candidates. All candidates, however, will be required to take the English sub-paper as part of the VITMEE examination.

• All papers have the same marking scheme and time limit. The exam serves as a gateway to various PG courses such as MCA, M.Tech, and other important courses.

VITMEE 2023 Syllabus

Candidates should be familiar with the subject-specific syllabus in order to target each concept for the subject they are taking. The subjects, chapters, and subtopics must be covered in order to pass the examination. Candidates for admission to the M.Tech programme should choose one of the following disciplines:

Biomedical Engineering

Civil Engineering

Candidates will be asked questions in this discipline to assess their fundamental understanding of designing, constructing, and maintaining physical and naturally built environments, including works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.

Chemical Engineering

Chemical engineering candidates must answer questions about the application of physical sciences (physics and chemistry) and life sciences (microbiology and biochemistry), as well as applied mathematics and economics, to the production, transformation, transportation, and proper utilization of chemicals, materials, and energy.

Chemistry

Questions in this discipline will be designed to assess candidates' knowledge of the composition, structure, properties, and change of matter, including the properties of individual atoms, the formation of chemical bonds by atoms for the creation of chemical compounds, the interactions of substances via intermolecular forces, the provision of general properties matter, and the interactions between substances for the formation of various substances via chemical reactions.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Candidates who choose this subject will be evaluated on their understanding and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.

Instrumentation Engineering

Candidates for this discipline will be evaluated primarily on the basis of their knowledge of the principles and operations of measuring instruments used in the design and configuration of automated systems.

Electronics and Communication Engineering

Candidates taking this discipline's entrance exam will be evaluated on their knowledge of electronic devices, circuits, communication equipment, and basic electronics, as well as analogue and digital data transmission and reception, microprocessors, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae, and wave progression.

Life Science

Candidates will be tested on their understanding of the scientific study of living organisms such as microorganisms, plants, animals, and humans, as well as related considerations such as bioethics.

Mechanical Engineering

Candidates taking this entrance exam for this subject will be evaluated based on their understanding of how to apply engineering, physics, and materials science principles to designing, analyzing, manufacturing, and maintaining mechanical systems.

Information Technology and Computer & Communication Engineering

Nanotechnology

Candidates for this division will be evaluated on their understanding of dimensions and tolerances of less than 100 nanometres, specific manipulation of matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale.

Pharmacy

Candidates in this discipline will be evaluated based on their knowledge of the properties and effects of medicines, as well as their ability to counsel patients about the use of medications.

Physics

Candidates interested in studying Physics will be evaluated based on their deep understanding of fundamental physical principles and techniques, as well as quantitative and technical analysis, as well as proficiency in applying knowledge and skills in physics.

Mathematics

Candidates who choose this discipline will be evaluated on their knowledge of algebra, theorems, differentiation, topology, and programming.

VITMEE Exam Pattern 2023

Knowing the inside of the exam pattern will eventually help aspirants taking VITMEE 2023 know what to expect. They will be able to target the main parameters, such as the type of questions, marking scheme, the number of questions, time duration, total marks assigned, and many other parameters, accordingly.

The exam subjects will be determined by the technical subject chosen for the specialization course. The exam will include 100 objective-type questions that must be answered in 120 minutes. The student will receive 1 mark for each correct answer, with a maximum of 100 marks available.

VITMEE Section-wise Marks weightage

The test will include objective questions. All of the questions will be multiple-choice. Each question will have four alternative answers suggested, from which the student must select the one that appears to be the most appropriate. The aspirant must answer 100 multiple-choice questions. The exam will consist of 80 questions about the chosen technical subject and 20 questions about English communication.
