The Panjab University conducts the Panjab University Common Entrance Test every year for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The PU CET exam is conducted separately for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In this article, we will be focussing on the undergraduate courses. The PU CET 2022 session admission process has been completed. The Punjab University will announce the dates and events for the PU CET 2023 soon on its official website. 

• The candidates must know the eligibility criteria before registering for the examination. If the candidate fails to qualify as per the university guidelines, his/her application form will nor be accepted. 
• In order to avail final admission, the candidates must clear all the stages of the admission process as defined by the exam conducting body. 
• The candidates shall be required to answer questions on the OMR Answer-Sheet, strictly following all the
• rules/ norms as stated on the Question Booklet and the Answer-sheet

What is the PU CET Exam?

The Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PU CET) is an entrance test led by Panjab University. Candidates can take this exam to get admission in B.Pharm., Botany, Zoology, Anthropology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Physics (Specialization in Electronics), Biochemistry, Microbiology,Biotechnology, Biophysic, Mathematics, Mathematics & Computing programmes. The PU CET exam is conducted only once a year offline. 

PU CET Application Process 2023

The application forms will be accepted through online mode. The release of the application forms will mark the commencement of the application process. The candidates should make sure they submit the application form before the application process is over. The candidates can follow the step wise instructions listed below to fill the application form: 

Step 1: Open the official page of Panjab University. 

Step 2: First complete the registration process. After that the candidates will be provided with their respective Application Number, login ID and Password. 

Step 3: With the given login ID and password, the candidates will have to log in to pay the prescribed application fee using the preferred payment method. 

Step 4: Subsequent to the payment of the application fee, the candidates will have to upload your scanned photograph,signature and other important information. 

Step 5: Click on the submit button to confirm your application form and wait for the details on the next course of action by the university. 

PU CET Registration Process 2023

Completing the registration process is imperative before filling the application form. The candidates must pay careful attention while filling in the details so that no mistakes are made. The applicants can follow the steps listed below to register for the exam: 

Step 1: Open the official website of Panjab University on your computer 

Step 2: Enter your name as written on the 10th marksheet. Add your other personal details like date of birth, email address and phone number. 

Step 3: after entering all the information, click the submit button to proceed further to fill the application form. 

PU CET Application Fee

The application fee for the PU CET exam is non refundable and non transferable. The candidates can check the category and subject wise application fee listed below: 

PU CET Important Dates 2023

The dates for the PU CET 2023 session will be disclosed by Panjab University soon. The candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website and Testbook for the latest news and updates on the PU CET 2023 exam. 

PU CET Eligibility Criteria 2023

The candidates must note that having a compartment in the 10+2 examination held in March-2022 will not be eligible for admission in the course. The candidates who do not appear in PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test or who do not qualify PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test shall not be considered for the admission.

PU CET Admission Process 2023

The admission process for the PU CET Entrance exam 2023 is as follows:

• Apply/Register for admission: Application/Registration can be done online on the official website of Panjab University.
• Download PU CET admit card: The candidates are required to carry their respective hall tickets to the exam hall and present it to the invigilator when asked.
• Appear for the PU CET Entrance exam: The exam is unquestionably the most important part of the admission process. The candidates are strongly advised to reach the exam venue earlier than the time mentioned on the admit card. Late comers will not be allied to attempt the exam. 
• Download the Merit List: The candidates can download the merit list from the official website. Candidates with the best scorer will advance to the final stage of the admission process.
• Personal Interview/Group Discussion: Candidates clearing the PU CET entrance exam will be shortlisted for the interview and group discussion round. A final merit list will be created on the basis of this round. In-person Interview will be conducted for Foreign Nationals/NRIs/Wards of NRIs candidates for verification of documents by the Dean International Student’s office.
• Counseling: This being the last stage, the candidates will be contacted based on their merit rank for the seat allotment.

PU CET Syllabus 2023

The syllabi of Entrance Test is as per the CBSE Syllabus for 10+1 and 10+2 for the session 2020-22. The aspirants will be required to choose a suitable combination of subjects depending on his/her choice of the course(s) and subjects he/she has studied in 10 +2 or its equivalent examination. The subject combinations are PCB/PCM/M. The candidates can check the detailed syllabus listed below: 

PU CET Exam Pattern 2023

The essential features of the PU CET exam pattern are elaborated below: 

• For every wrong answer, 25% marks allotted to the question will be deducted.
• The medium of examination shall be ENGLISH only.
• Each question carries 1 mark. 
• The Test will be conducted in the subjects of (i) Physics, (ii) Chemistry (iii) Biology (iv) Mathematics.

PU CET Admit Card 2023

Admit Cards will be available for downloading from the website by the candidate using his/her Login ID and Password. The candidates shall be admitted to the test only on the production of the admit card

at the test center. The candidate must retain the admit card with them till the admission process is over.

Step 1: Go to the official website of Panjab University. 

Step 2: Click on the admit card icon on the homepage. 

Step 3: PU-CET (UG) 2023 admit card window will be displayed. 

Step 4: Enter your PU-CET (UG) login details including Login ID and Password to save the admit card. 

Step 5: Check the hall ticket for discrepancies and print out multiple copies to carry to the exam room. 

PU CET Exam Centers 2023 

The exam is expected to be held in 4 cities of Punjab. These are as follows: 

• Chandigarh
• Ludhiana
• Muktsar 
• Hoshiarpur

List of Documents Required at the Exam Center 

The examiness are required to carry the following documents to the exam room: 

• A Passport 
• Admit card for the PU CET entrance exam
• Driving License 
• PAN Card 
• Aadhar Card 
• Voter I-Card
• Vaccination certificate

PU CET Answer/Response Key 2023

The candidates can file their objections regarding discrepancies and accuracy of the key by e-mail to arcet@pu.ac.in latest by 14-07-2022 (Thursday). Objections received will be published on the website and cross objections will also be invited within a certain timeframe as mentioned in the Schedule for Entrance Test and Admission PU-CET(UG)-2022. The examinees can download the answer key by following the steps listed below: 

Step 1: Go to the official website of Panjab University 

Step 2: On the main page, click on the Answer Key Tab. 

Step 3: To be able to view the answer key, enter your roll number and course preference form the dropdown menu.

Step 4: Save the displayed PU-CET Answer key on your computer 

Step 5: Check correct options of each question for your subject to get your overall approximate score. 

PU CET Result 2023

The University will publish PU – CET (U.G.) results showing the list of “Qualified” and “Not Qualified” candidates. There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking/re-assessment of OMR Answer Sheet under any circumstances. Requests for seeing the Question booklet or OMR Answer-Sheet by any candidate shall not be entertained at all. The evaluation once done by the university shall be absolutely final. The authorities will also publish category wise merit lists for all the courses separately. The candidates listed in the merit will be allowed to attend the counseling round. The scorecard can be downloaded from the official website by following the steps listed below: 

Step 1: Go to the official website of Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Step 2: Click on the 'Click Here to Check PU-CET (U.G. & BHMS) - 2023 Entrance Test Result' link displayed on the main page. 

Step 3: Check the result for the selected courses. 

Step 4: PU CET 2023 merit list will be displayed. Download the list for future use. 

Cut Off Marks 

The cut off percentage for the new session has not been released by the authorities. As per the previous year notification, the cut off percentage is 15% of the total marks. Only in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Backward Classes / PwD candidates, this requirement will be a minimum attainment of 10% (cut off) of total marks. The candidate must also check the merit criteria that will be used for the creation of the merit list mentioned in the following table: 

PU CET Counseling Session 2023

Final seats will be allotted to the candidates in the counseling round. Admissions to various courses shall be made on the basis of merit only. Counseling schedules will be uploaded on the Online Notice Board. Physical presence of the candidate in the counseling is mandatory for all on the notified dates. The admission of a candidate shall be Provisional and subject to approval by the appropriate authority of Panjab University. 

Documents Required for Counseling Process 

The candidates are required to present the following documents at the time of counseling process to confirm the final eligibility:

• PU-CET (PG) 2023 rank card
• Bachelor’s degree Mark sheet and Passing Certificate of class 10
• Bachelor’s degree Mark sheet and Passing Certificate of class 12
• Transfer or leaving certificate from the institute last attended
• Migration Certificate
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Character certificate
• 4 passport size photographs
• Medical Certificate

Important Points for the PU CET 2023

• Qualifying an Entrance Test does not entitle a candidate to get admission in a course. The candidate will have to fill up and submit an online Admission Form at http://online admissions.puchd.ac.in and has to meet the eligibility requirements of the course.
• The candidates must bring their own stationery items such as Black Gel Pen. Borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited in the exam room 
• There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking/reassessment of answer-sheets (Objective and Subjective) under any circumstance. Requests for seeing the Question Booklet / answer- sheets/answer-books by the candidates shall not be entertained at all. The evaluation once done by the University shall be absolutely final.
