Haryana Police Selection Process 2024

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission will be releasing the selection process for Sub Inspectors and Constables post. The candidates who successfully clear all the stages of the selection process are eligible for Haryana Police Recruitment. 

• The selection process for both the posts is very similar and comprises a Written Test followed by a Physical Screening Test, which is qualifying in nature. The candidates must pass this stage to be eligible to proceed further.
• Physical Measurement Test, which is again qualifying in nature. Those who fail to clear this part, are eliminated for going further. 
• Document Verification 

After the completion of all the stages, a merit list is published with the names of the selected candidates. Read this article carefully, to get a detailed analysis of how the Haryana Police Selection Process is conducted. 

Haryana Police Constable Selection Process 2024

Haryana Police SI Selection Process 2024

The Haryana Police SI Selection process(expected) comprises of

• Written Test
• Physical Screening Test (PST) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
• Additional Qualification
• Miscellaneous

Written Exam

• The Written Test will carry 80 marks.
• There will be a total of 100 questions.
• There is no negative marking as per the official notification of HSSC.
• Each correct answer will be marked as 0.8
• Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the Written Test.

Haryana Police Commando Selection Process 2024

The first stage of selection shall be the Physical Measurement Test. Only those candidates who qualify the standards prescribed for this test shall take part in the further process of selection i.e. Physical Screening Test (PST). All the candidates who qualify in the PST will be eligible to appear for the knowledge test. Hence the selection process will consist of three stages:

1. Physical Measurement
2. Physical Screening Test
3. Knowledge Test

Haryana Police Commando Physical Screening Test

The PST shall consist of three tasks of 10 marks each. The candidates need to qualify all the 3 tests prescribed.

Haryana Police Commando Physical Measurement Test

The candidates need to satisfy the measurement standards in terms of height and chest requirements. The candidates must have a height of at least 175 cm.

The chest measurement should be 83 cms plus a minimum expansion of 4 cm. The candidates having chest measurements less than 83 cm would not be qualified.

Haryana Police Selection Process - Physical Screening Test (PST)

The second phase of the Haryana Police Recruitment is the Physical Screening Test, where the physical endurance of the candidates is tested for both the posts i.e Constable and SI. There are separate tasks allocated to the female and male candidates, that they need to finish within the given time period. Check the details below. 

Note

1: The candidates who fail to meet the prescribed standards at the PST, will be eliminated from the Haryana Police recruitment process. 

2: The candidates who belong to the dependents of ex-servicemen or freedom fighters need to complete the test in similar standards to that of the candidates of the other respective categories like General, OBC etc. 

Haryana Police Physical Measurement Test (PMT) Selection Criteria

The third stage of the Haryana Police recruitment is the Physical Measurement Test. Here, the candidates are required to meet certain guidelines as prescribed by the concerned authorities. Those who are able to pass this phase, are summoned for the final document verification round. 

Haryana Police Selection Process- Document Verification

Applicants who qualify the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) shall further be called for document verification. This is the fourth stage of the recruitment process. Applicants will be awarded marks for their academic performance on producingthe valid documents. Allocation of marks will be different for each category of post. Details for the same are mentioned below.

Haryana Police Constable Post:

• Applicants will be awarded maximum 7 marks on fulfilling the below-mentioned criteria.
• 04 marks shall be awarded to candidates if they possess a higher education or a graduation degree from a recognized/esteemed university.
• 03 marks shall be awarded to candidates if they possess a postgraduate degree in any stream from a recognized/esteemed university.

Haryana Police Sub-Inspector Post:

Applicants will be awarded maximum 7 marks on fulfilling the mentioned criteria. 

• 04 marks shall be awarded to candidates if they possess a Graduation Degree in Computer Engineering/ Computer Science, Forensics, Medicine, Criminology, Police Science from a recognized/established university.
• 03 marks shall be awarded if they have a postgraduate degree in any of the above mentioned fields. 

Candidates who have an NCC certificate of any level i.e. A or B or C shall be awarded 01, 02, 03 marks respectively. (This is applicable for both the posts)

Additional Qualification (10% weightage)

The candidates who clear the 3rd phase successfully, are eligible to appear for the final scrutiny verification round. 

1. For the post of Constables: A candidate with a bachelor's degree in any stream from a reputed university, shall get 4 marks and, candidates with a postgraduate degree from a recognized institute get 3 additional marks. 
2.  For the post of Sub inspectors: 4 marks allotted to the candidates with a graduation degree in law, computer engineering/ Science, Forensic Medicine, Forensic Science, Police Science and Criminology and candidates with a post-graduate degree get additional 3 marks.
3. Candidates with an NCC certificate for levels A, B or C get additional 1,2 or 3 marks respectively for both the SI and Constable posts. 

Haryana Police Selection Criteria - Miscellaneous (10% weightage)

1: Five marks will be awarded to the candidates, if neither he/she or his/her mother/father/son/spouse or anyone of his acquaintance was/is/has been a regular employee of the Haryana or any other state government. 

2: Five marks will be provided to the candidate if he/she 

• A Widow 
• The first or second child and His/her father died before attaining the age of 42 
• The first or second child and the applicant’s father died before he/she (applicant) reached 15 years age.
• Five marks will be given if the applicant belongs to such a denotified tribe (Vimukt Jatis) or Nomadic tribe of Haryana which is neither a Scheduled Caste nor a Backward Class.
• Maximum 8 marks has been considered, for the experience as a contract employee. 
• 0.5 marks for each part, thereafter crossing 6 months of experience out of 16 years on the same or higher post in any Department under the Government of Haryana. 

Note

• Claim or reservation benefit and/or relaxation etc, if any shall be admissible to those candidates only, who are able to submit the requisite valid original certificate for scrutiny, alongside their application in support of their claim, failing which, they will be taken to account as general category candidates, provided they are otherwise eligible to apply. Information, in this case, will be displayed on the official portal of the conducting body. 
• If the quota, which is reserved for the category of ex-servicemen (ESM-GEN, ESM-SC, ESM-BCA, ESM-BCB) stays unfulfilled due to lack of ex-servicemen or their dependants or suitable candidates from the backward classes, there will be 2% reservation for freedom fighter/their children/grandchildren to that particular extent. 
•  Reservation in the SC, Backward Class A, and B, Ex-servicemen are only for the domiciles of Haryana.

Documents to Produce During Verification 

During the final scrutiny verification process, the candidates need to produce the following documents. 

• Printed Copy of Online Application 
• Stamp size photograph, attested by a Gazetted Officer
• Fee Deposit Proof/ Credit Certificate/ Treasury Challan 

Haryana Police Personality Test

Candidates who qualify for the four stages of the selection process will then be called for a final Personality/Interview Test. This round will only be held for applicants who have applied for the Police Constable position. 

• This Personality/Interview test will be conducted for both Male & female applicants.
• Candidates will be able to download the schedule for the Interview Test from the official website of Haryana Police.
• The dates of interview will vary for male and female candidates.
• Candidates will have to download a different admit card for this test. It will be made available on the official website.
• The reporting time for this test will be 9 am.
• Candidates are requested to bring original as well as self-attested supporting documents to the commission office on the day of the test.

Haryana Police Merit List

The Haryana Police result is declared based on the performance of the candidates. The candidates need to perform exceptionally well in all the stages of recruitment.
