Haryana Medical Officer Eligibility Criteria 2023: Check Criteria to Apply

The Haryana Medical Officer written examination will be conducted fpr 100 marks. The selection process will also comprise of the Post Graduate Degree and Post Graduate Diploma marks followed by Professional Service Experience of the applicant. The qualifying candidates will contain their names in the final merit list. 

In order to qualify for the post of Haryana Medical Officer, the applicants need to meet specific eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification, nationality, age limit along with specific age relaxation for the reserved category candidates.

Haryana Medical Officer Eligibility Criteria 

All the interested candidates who wish to apply for Haryana Medical Officer post, must not be less than 22 years of age and more than 25 years of age. The maximum age relaxation for various categories of candidates applying for the Haryana Medical Officer post is mentioned in the table below:

Age

Here, ex-servicemen refers to someone who has served in any rank like a combatant or non-combatant in the Regular Army, Navy and Air Force of the Indian Union and 

• Who has retired from providing such a service after earning his/her pension
• Who has been released from such service on medical grounds attributable to military service or circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or other disability pension, or
• Who has been released otherwise than on his own request from such service as a result of reduction in establishment, or
• Who has been released from such service after completion of the specific period of engagements, other than at his own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or has been given a gratuity, and includes personnel of the Territorial Army of the following categories namely:
  • Pension holders for continuous embodied service
  • Persons with disabilities attributable to military service and,
  • Gallantry award winners

The benefit of reservation will be given to those applicants who have a caste certificate belonging to SC/ST/BC/PwBD/EWS categories belonging to the state of Haryana. They should have the domicile of the state of Haryana also. Candidates belonging to the reservation categories need to submit their caste certificate at any cost in order to join the service of Haryana Medical Officer. The candidates will not be allowed to change the category against which the application form has been submitted by the candidate at any later stage after the application form has been submitted online.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification for interested candidates should meet the eligibility criteria as released by the concerned department. Read through the bulletins carefully and match the qualifications before you apply online through the official website. 

• Graduate in Medicine and Surgery from a recognised University or any other University or Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India.
• Registered as Medical Practitioner with the Medical Council of India or any other State Medical Council in the Indian Union.
• Knowledge of Hindi or Sanskrit.
  • Preference shall be given to those who have MD/ MS Degree/ PG Diploma approved by MCI. 

Nationality

Applicants must check the nationality criteria mentioned by the authority in the Haryana Medical Officer Official Notification. In order to apply for the Haryana Medical Officer post, the candidates must check their nationality criteria before applying. The candidates must be -

• a citizen of India
• a subject of Nepal
• a subject of Bhutan
• a Tibetan refugee who migrated permanently till 1st Jan 1962
• an Indian origin person who migrated permanently from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates who belong to the following categories must be able to produce an eligibility certificate which has been issued by the Government of India. Any candidate who falls under the same category must have the eligibility certificate which has been issued by the Government of India and they may show it during the time of generating the letter of appointment. In case they do not show it at the time of appearing for the test, it won’t be a huge issue.

All applicants should keep a note of certain significant points when they apply for the post of Haryana Medical Officer and make sure to cross-check the eligibility criteria while filling the application form.

• Candidates should fall within the age category of 22 years to 35 years.
• Candidates should be a graduate in Medicine and Surgery or be a registered practitioner and even have an MD, MS or PGD.
