IIT Bombay has released the eligibility criteria for CEED Exam 2023, which is the Common Entrance Exam for Design conducted to offer admission for candidates who wish to pursue Master of Design (M.Des) and PhD Programmes. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay is the conducting body for the CEED exam. A candidate can secure admission for M.Des in various IITs across the country based on their CEED score. The CEED exam eligibility criteria have various parameters to determine the eligibility of the candidate for the M.Des programme.

CEED Eligibility Criteria 2023

The CEED Eligibility criteria for the year 2023 have been released by IIT Bombay. CEED score can be used to secure admission in various participating institutes as well as other design institutions. The eligibility criteria for CEED exam state various requirements a candidate must have if they wish to appear for the examination. All the necessary details regarding the eligibility criteria have been provided below.

Educational Qualifications

CEED eligibility criteria 2023 mentions that aspiring candidates must have completed a degree/diploma/postgraduate degree programme of a minimum of three years (after 10+2 level). Candidates who are appearing for the final examination of such a program, or have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) are also eligible to appear for the examination. 

Aspiring candidates must keep in mind that the requirement mentioned in the CEED eligibility criteria is to appear for the examination. The eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes may differ from the CEED eligibility criteria. Age Limit Criteria

Eligibility criteria for CEED exam do not mention any age limit or restrictions for candidates who wish to take the examination. Aspiring candidates can appear for the examination regardless of their age.

Number of Attempts

CEED exam eligibility criteria have not put a restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can appear for the examination. Aspiring candidates can appear for the CEED entrance exam any number of times.

Aggregate Marks in Qualifying Examination

CEED eligibility criteria specify no minimum percentage of marks to be attained by a candidate to appear for the examination. All candidates with the necessary educational qualifications mentioned in the CEED eligibility criteria are allowed to appear for the exam.

Scribe Criteria

Candidates applying under the PwD category have the choice of using the services of a scribe. The CEED eligibility criteria state that candidates who have a disability and require assistance in operating the computer for Part-A of the exam can avail the services of a scribe. Some key points to be noted regarding the same are given below.

• While applying, the candidate must select the option of a scribe in the online registration form and also attach a copy of the PwD certificate. 
• Candidates are not allowed to bring their own scribes. Eligible candidates will be provided with a panel of scribes to choose from by the Test Centre Administrator (TCA) at the examination centre.

CEED Eligibility Criteria for Nationality

CEED exam eligibility criteria state that students of India/NRI/PIO/OCI are eligible to appear for the examination. NRI students must have recent visas and Indian passports.

CEED Eligibility Criteria for Foreign/NRI Students

NRI and foreign students are allowed to appear for CEED provided they fulfil all the CEED eligibility requirements. The eligibility criteria for foreign/NRI students remain the same. Candidates must note that there are no NRI or foreign student quotas available in the participating institutions and the selection will be based strictly on merit.

There have not been any major changes in the CEED eligibility criteria 2023. Candidates can also appear for the examination any number of times.

CEED 2023 Reservation

CEED has specific provisions for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories. With certain seats reserved for these categories, candidates must note some important points regarding the same.

• Candidates who are applying in the EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL category have to produce valid category certificates issued by appropriate authorities. The candidates must produce a valid category certificate at the time of applying for admission to the respective institute.
• In the case of candidates belonging to EWS/OBC-NCL categories, the category certificate produced must be issued only from April 1, 2021
• Candidates who are applying for a person with physical disability (PwD) category should produce a valid medical certificate issued by the appropriate authority. The certificate must clearly state that the disability is at least 40%, in order to avail the reservation.
