RRB JE Minimum Qualifying Marks 2025

Both the computer-based tests or CBT I & II for RRB JE is qualifying in nature, as per the previous recruitments. CBT II is given preference in the merit list as well. You have to satisfy these cutoff marks for proceeding from CBT I to CBT II as well as to the proceeding stage of document verification. How to Challenge the RRB JE Answer Key 2025? 

Once the RRB JE CBT 2 Answer Key is released, the authority shall also provide the provision to raise challenges/issues in case of any discrepancy. For raising objections, candidates can follow the steps given below & get the errors fixed.

Step 1: First, visit the RRBs official website mentioned above. 

Step 2: Then click on the objection link which shall open a new window.

Step 3: Press the ‘Question Paper & Response” button.

Step 4: Select ‘raise objection’ option which shall be available near the question.

Step 5: Choose the type of objection you have from the dropdown menu.

Step 6: Lastly, fill in the supporting details or upload the required documents.

Note: Candidates should remember that they can raise objections for only one question at a time & make a payment of Rs. 50 per question. The authority shall screen the provisional answer key after which the final answer key shall be released. Normalization of RRB JE Marks

CBT is conducted in multiple sessions so the raw marks obtained by the candidates in different sessions will be converted to normalized marks. 

A suitable normalization method is applied to take into account any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different sessions conducted. The formula for normalized marks calculation for the multi-session papers is detailed below: 

Normalization mark of jth candidate in the session is given by : 

Mij = (Mt - Mq/ Mti - Miq) * (Mij - Miq) + Mq

where,

• Mij : Actual marks obtained by the jth candidate in ith session. 
• Mt : Average marks of the top 0.1% of the candidates considering all sessions. 
• Mq : Sum of mean and standard deviation marks of the candidates in the paper considering all sessions. 
• Mti : Average marks of the top 0.1% of the candidates in the ith session or marks of topper if session strength is less than 1000. 
• Miq : Sum of the mean marks and standard deviation of the ith session
• Miq : Sum of the mean marks and standard deviation of the ith session.

Calculation of Merit Index for RRB JE

Merit index will be computed in order to generate a common merit list of candidates who gave examination from different Exam Groups, but eligible for a common post. For papers conducted only one session, actual marks obtained by the candidates will be used for calculating Merit Index, while for papers in multi-sessions, normalized marks will be calculated and the Merit Index will be calculated based on the normalized marks. 

The formula used for computing the Merit Index is as given below : 

Merit Index = Sq+(St-Sq) 

(Merit Index is the relative score within the discipline.) 

Where,

• M: Marks scored by the candidate (actual/raw marks for single session exam and normalized marks for multi session exam. 
• Mq : Qualifying marks for general category candidates i.e., 40 marks. 
• Mt : The mean marks of top 0.1% or top 10 whichever is larger of the candidates who appeared in the paper in case of multi session exam.
• Sq: 350 is the score assigned to Mq . 
• St: 900 is the score assigned to Mt .
