How To Calculate UPSC IES Prelim Marks?

The preliminary exam consists of 250 questions which are asked for 500 marks. In order to interpret the answer key and to calculate the marks scored by the candidates, they need to understand the marking scheme. Following are the expected rules framed to decide the marking scheme for the UPSC IES prelims exam :

• 2 marks for every right answer
• A penalty of 1/3rd marks deduction for an incorrect answer
