Question
Download Solution PDFX, Y and Z completed a work costing Rs. 3,400, X worked for 5 days, Y for 7 days and Z for 10 days. If their daily wages are in the ratio of 4 ∶ 5 ∶ 3, how much amount will be received by X?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
The number of days required to complete the work by X, Y, and Z are 5 days, 7 days, and 10 days respectively
Their daily salary ratio = 4: 5: 3
X, Y, and Z completed a work costing Rs. 3,400
Formula used
Total wage = Days × Wage per day
Calculation:
The ratio of wages X, Y, Z = (4 × 5 : 5 × 7 : 10 × 3) = 20 : 35 : 30
⇒ The ratio of wages A, B, C = 4 : 7 : 6
⇒ X's share = (4/17) × 3400 = 800
∴ The share of X is Rs. 800
