Sensitivity of Rectifier Instruments:

Sensitivity is defined as the deflection per unit current flowing in the coil.

The sensitivity of voltmeter also depends on the circuit resistance which is known as loading effect.

DC Sensitivity(SDC):

Deflection per unit DC current flowing in the coil.

\({S_{DC}} = \frac{1}{{{I_{fs}}}}(\Omega /V)\)

Where Ifs = Full-scale deflection current

AC Sensitivity (SAC):

Deflection per unit AC current flowing in the coil.

Relation Between SAC and SDC

Half wave rectifier: SAC = 0.45 SDC

Full wave rectifier: SAC = 0.9 SDC
