Concept used:
HCF is the factor of LCM.
Calculation:
According to the Question,
HCF = 8
When we find the LCM of the numbers it contains the HCF of the number
∴ LCM is a multiple of 8
Option 1:
⇒ 56 = 8 ×7
Option 2:
⇒ 48 = 8 × 6
Option 4:
⇒ 40 = 8 × 5
There is only option 3 which is 42 which is not a multiple of 8.
∴ 42 can never be their LCM
∴ The Required answer is 42.
