Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
8 year ago the ratio of age of father and his son was 2 : 1
Calculation:
Let the father and son age be 2x and 1x respectivily
Present age of father and son is (2x + 8) and (x + 8) respectivily
According to question,
(2x + 8) + (x + 8) = 94
⇒ 3x + 16 = 94
⇒ x = 26
Present age of father = (2x + 8) = 60 years and present age of son = (x + 8) = 34 years
After 10 years, father = 60 + 10 = 70 years and son = 34 + 10 = 44 years
∴ After 7 years the ratio of ages of father and son = 70 : 44 = 35 : 22
