Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
The ratio of income of Jitendra to Narendra = 4 : 7
The ratio of expenditure of Jitendra to Narendra = 6 : 5
Jitendra's savings = Rs. 400
Jitendra's income = Rs. 2,800
Calculation
The ratio of income is 4 : 7
Let the ratio be 4x and 7x
The income of Jitendar = 2800
So 4x = 2800
x = 700
So the income of Narender = 7x = 7 × 700 = 4900
The saving of Jitendar = 400
So expenditure of Jitendar = 2800 - 400 = 2400
The ratio of expenditure of Jitendra to Narendra = 6 : 5
Let the ratio of expenditure be 6y and 5y
so, 6y = 2400
y = 400
So expenditure of Narendra = 5y = 5 × 400 = 2000
Saving of Narendra = 4900 - 2000 = 2900
Therefore, the savings of Narendra is Rs. 2,900.
