Average of 10 numbers = 6

Each number is multiplied by 13

Concept used:

Average = Sum of observation / Number of observations

Calculation:

Let's assume the Sum of numbers = m

Average = \( \dfrac{m}{10} \) = 6   →  (1)

Multiplying each number by 13,

Sum of new numbers = 13 x m

Average of new numbers = 13 x \( \dfrac{m}{10} \)

From eq (1),

⇒ 13 x 6

⇒ 78

∴ The average of the new set of numbers is 78.
