Question
Download Solution PDFR lends some money to S on which S pays ₹17,000 more to R. S lends the same money to T, on which T pays 8.5% more to S. What should be the minimum amount (in ₹) that S must borrow so that he does not incur any loss in the process?
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFCalculation :
Let the amount lent by R to S be x
⇒ Rreceived = x + 17000
⇒ Sreceived = x + 8.5x/100
Amount remained with S = x + 8.5x/100 - (x + 17000)
⇒ 8.5x/100 - 17000
Now by putting values from the option we see :
⇒ 8.5 × 200000/100 - 17000 = 0
⇒ 8.5 × 225000/100 - 17000 = 2125
⇒ 8.5 × 180000/100 - 17000 = - 1700
⇒ 8.5 × 170000/100 - 17000 = - 2550
The minimum amount that can be borrowed by S = Rs.200000
∴ The correct answer is 200000.
