Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
City A: 2004 = 50, 2006 = 100, 2008 = 120 (lakhs)
City B: 2005 = 70, 2007 = 80 (lakhs)
Formula used:
Percentage more = ((Asum – Bsum)/Bsum)×100
Calculations:
⇒ Asum = 50 + 100 + 120 = 270
⇒ Bsum = 70 + 80 = 150
Percentage more = ((270 – 150)/150) × 100 = 120/150 × 100 = 0.8 × 100 = 80%
∴ The population of City A in 2004, 2006 and 2008 together is 80% more than that of City B in 2005 and 2007 together.
