Download Solution PDFIn the context of electromagnetic induction, if the magnetic fluxes of two coils oppose each other, then the connection is called ______.
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFInterconnection of coils
1.) Series connection:
If the magnetic fluxes of two coils support each other, then the connection is called series addition.
\(L_{eq}=L_1+L_2+2M\)
If the magnetic fluxes of two coils oppose each other, then the connection is called series opposing.
\(L_{eq}=L_1+L_2-2M\)
1.) Parallel connection:
When the direction of magnetic flux produced by the inductors in parallel is in the same direction, it is in parallel addition.
\(L_{eq}={L_1L_2-M^2\over L_1+L_2-2M}\)
When the direction of magnetic flux produced by the inductors in parallel is in the opposite direction, it is in parallel opposing.
\(L_{eq}={L_1L_2-M^2\over L_1+L_2+2M}\)
