Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Selling price after 20% discount and ₹50 UPI discount = ₹3,190
Formula Used:
Selling Price after discount = Marked Price × (1 - Discount%) - Additional Discount
Calculation:
Let the Marked Price be M.
Selling Price after 20% discount = M × (1 - 20/100) = M × 0.80
Selling Price after UPI discount = M × 0.80 - 50
Given that Selling Price after UPI discount = ₹3,190
⇒ M × 0.80 - 50 = 3,190
⇒ M × 0.80 = 3,190 + 50
⇒ M × 0.80 = 3,240
⇒ M = 3,240 / 0.80
⇒ M = 4,050
The marked price of the saree is ₹4,050.
