The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) releases the IBPS Clerk Syllabus and Exam Pattern for both the Prelims and Mains stages. Candidates must understand the exam structure, marking scheme, and important topics to prepare effectively. In IBPS Clerk 2025 Exam, the Prelims will cover English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability, while the Mains will include General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. Both exams will have objective-type questions. The Prelims will be conducted for 100 marks and the Mains for 200 marks. As per the official IBPS Calendar 2025, the IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam will be held on 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th December 2025, while the Mains Exam is scheduled for 1st February 2026. The official IBPS Clerk notification 2025 is expected to be released in July 2025.

The IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern for the Prelims and Mains is different in terms of the overall weightage, section-wise marks distribution, and exam duration. Before preparing for the exam go through these details and strategize your preparation accordingly.
The prelims exam has three sections with a total of 100 marks. The test is an objective-based online paper where one hour is allocated to the candidates. According to the latest update by the governing body, in 2025 and the coming years the IBPS Clerk mains exam shall have a total of 190 questions. Aspirants will be given a total of 160 minutes to finish the objective-based online test.
