The UPSC General Studies Paper IV is one of the nine papers which are part of the UPSC Mains exam. The syllabus of GS 4 UPSC paper comprises the following subjects –
In this paper, a total of 12 questions will be asked in Hindi and English for a total of 250 marks. Students will be required to answer all the questions, which will be asked in 10 marks and 15 marks format. The word limit for 10 mark questions will be 150 words, while for the 15 mark questions, it will be 250 words. Questions in this paper are asked in the following two manners –
Candidates need to analyze issues holistically involving various stakeholders, suggest solutions and justify their standpoint. Greater emphasis is on practical application of concepts rather than rote learning.
