Motion Study:
It is a technique to record and time an activity/operation. It deals with –
- Taking motion pictures of the operation of the study with a clock fixed by the side of the operation.
- Operating a motion picture camera or a video camera at a known constant speed.
Purpose:
- It is used as an aid to study the activities of two or more operators who work as a group.
- It is used to study the interrelationship among the activities of the operator and the machines.
- It helps to find the preferred method of performing the activities of the job.
- It helps to identify unnecessary and fatigue producing motion.
