Concept:

Area of Circle = πR2

Where R = radius of the circle

D = 2R

D = Diameter of circle

Calculation:

Given:

The Diameter of the circular plate = 6 cm

The diameter of the circle to be cut = 3 cm

\(Radius \ of \ circular \ plate=\frac{6}{2}=3 \ cm\)

\(Radius \ of \ circle=\frac{3}{2} \ cm \)

Required Area = Area of the circular plate - Area of the circle

Area = π32 -  π(1.5)2

\(Area \ =\pi(9 \ - \ \frac{9}{4})\)

\(Area=\frac{27\pi}{4} \ cm^2\)

Hence option (2) is the correct answer
