Given:

Find the smallest number which when divided by 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 leaves the remainder 3 in each case.

Formula used:

Smallest number = LCM(4, 6, 7, 8, 9) + Remainder

Calculations:

LCM(4, 6, 7, 8, 9)

Prime factorization:

4 = 22

6 = 2 × 3

7 = 7

8 = 23

9 = 32

LCM = 23 × 32 × 7

LCM = 8 × 9 × 7

LCM = 504

Smallest number = 504 + 3

⇒ Smallest number = 507

∴ The correct answer is option 2.
