Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
The average of 53 numbers is 275.
Two discarded numbers are 270 and 280.
Formula used:
Total = average × Number of items
Calculation:
Sum of 53 numbers = 275 × 53
= 14575
According to the question
Sum of 51 numbers = 14575 - (270+280)
= 14575 - 550
= 14025
Average of 51 numbers = 14025/51
= 275
∴ The correct answer is 275.
