Let two line represented by ax2 + 2hxy + by2 = 0 are

y = m1x

y = m2x

Where,

And ----(ii)

Let θ be angle between two lines

∴ using (i) and (ii)

Calculation:

Given equation is:

y2 - xy - 6x2 = 0

Compare it with standard equation:

ax2 + 2hxy + by2 = 0

b = 1, a = - 6, h = -1/2

From equation (1);

∴ θ = 45°
