A sum of money invested at simple interest becomes 5 times of itself in 10 years. How many times will it become in 25 years time?

Given :

Time taken(T) = 10 years

Formula used :

\(S.I = \dfrac{P\times R\times T}{100}\)

Calculation :

Amount = P

S.I = 5P - P = 4P

4P = \(\dfrac{P\times R\times T}{100}\)

⇒ 4P = \(\dfrac{P\times R\times 10}{100}\)

⇒ R = \(\dfrac{100\times 4}{10}\) = 40%

S.I after 25 yrs = \(\dfrac{P\times 40\times 25}{100} \)

⇒ 10P

Amount after 25 yrs = 10P + P = 11P

Clearly, it becomes 11 times

∴ The answer is 11.
