- The candidate must have passed the middle school, matriculation with Odia as a language subject.
- The candidate must be able to speak, read and write Odia.
Nationality

The candidates can refer to the Odisha RI exam pattern to know details of the exam such as the number of questions, weightage for each section, and know any negative marking if applicable. Below is the detailed exam pattern for the written examination.
Phrase I: Preliminary Exam (MCQ type in OMR/CBRT Mode)
- A total number of 100 questions are asked.
- The written exam is conducted for 100 marks.
- Marks deducted for each wrong answer is 1/3 th of the marks assigned to each question i.e 0.33 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.
- The duration of the examination is 1½ hours.

Skill Test
The Practical Skill Test in Basic Computer Skills shall be qualifying. The minimum qualifying mark shall be 40% for all candidates.
