Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
The selling price of each wristwatch = Rs. 1980
Concept used:
CP = SP × 100/(100 – Loss%)
CP = SP × 100/(100 + Profit%)
Calculation:
CP of 1 watch = 1980 × 10/11
⇒ Rs. 1800
CP of another watch = 1980 × 10/9
⇒ Rs. 2200
Total CP = 1800 + 2200
⇒ Rs. 4000
Total SP = 1980 × 2
⇒ 3960
Loss = 4000 – 3960
⇒ Rs. 40
∴ The entire transaction resulted in a loss of Rs. 40.
Shortcut TrickWhen Profit and loss % are the same and SP is also the same then it will give only a loss
+ 10% -10% + (-10 × 10)/100
⇒ -1%
Loss = 3960 × 1/99
⇒ Rs. 40
∴ The entire transaction resulted in a loss of Rs. 40.
