• Children learn to enjoy Mathematics rather than fear it
• Practical activities related to environment and daily life
• Use of creative methods where children can participate
• Songs, picture study, games, puzzles, quiz and narration of events

NOTE: 

• Induction, deduction are methods of teaching mathematics but these are not suitable for children in lower classes.
• Cramming or rote method should never be used in lower classes.
