Four years ago, Brijesh's age was half of William's then age.

Calculation:

According to the question,

William + Brijesh = 20 ----------(1)

and,

(William - 4) = 2(Brijesh - 4)

⇒ William = 2 × Brijesh - 4 -----(2)

⇒ Solving equations (1) and (2), we get William's age = 12 years, Brijesh's age = 8 years

∴ William's present age is 12 years.

Hence, the correct answer is option 2).
