Cache Memory:

  • Cache memory is very fast and uses small storage to hold the current active segments of the program and data.
  • It is placed between the main memory and the processor.
  • It is used to store the recently used computer/main data memory for a temporary interval.
  • It increases performance and reduces the cost and time.
  • Data or instructions that are used frequently by the processor are stored in the cache memory of the CPU for further use.

Note: Cache memory is slightly different from RAM as it can’t store huge files.
