Original food bill (P) = Rs. 400

First discount rate (D1) = 15% or 0.15

Second discount rate (D2) = 35% or 0.35

Formula Used:

Total Discount = D1 × P + D2 × (1 - D1) × P

Calculations:

Total Discount = 0.15 × 400 + 0.35 × (1 - 0.15) × 400

Total Discount = 60 + 0.35 × 0.85 × 400

Total Discount = 60 + 119
