Rohit Sharma Retires From Test Cricket? Will India Get New Captain For The Red Ball Format? All Details Inside

Rohit Sharma's form in the Tests has been very concerning for the selectors. India lost all 6 test matches including the White Wash at home by New Zealand and the 3 test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy

According to PTI, Rohit Sharma who is currently the captain for the Test team for India is unlikely to be picked for Tests anymore. Moreover, Bumrah who is the current Test Captain will most likely be promoted to the captain for India in the future. The reason that Bumrah was ruled out of the Champions Trophy was because BCCI did not want to risk him out and see him as the probable future captain for India.

“It is understood that the main bone of contention was that Bumrah is yet to start bowling full tilt and those in the know of things said that it is very difficult to get match-fit in such a short time.

Rather, he can come back for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and then lead India in England as Rohit Sharma is unlikely to be picked for Tests again,” PTI said.
