Rishabh Pant To Be On Auction Podium Again After Being The Most Expensive Player IPL History

There will be a bidding battle of eight teams to acquire him. This auction will be held on the 6th of this month.

Team India’s star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is on the tour of England. Team India has already lost the first Test and now has to play the second Test at Edgbaston, where Pant will be under the spotlight. Pant is in top form and shocked the world by scoring hundreds in both innings of the first match. A day before the second Test, huge news was announced regarding Pant. He is going into an auction once more. There will be a bidding battle of eight teams to acquire him. This auction will be held on the 6th of this month.

The most costly player of IPL 2025, Pant, will now be included in the second season auction of the Delhi Premier League. Besides him, a dozen or so players who have represented different IPL teams will also be featured in the auction. It will be worth watching which team selects Pant this time. He is anticipated to earn a massive sum and may be the costliest player of the second season as well.

This is the same Rishabh Pant on whose behalf the Lucknow team acquired him for ₹27 crore in IPL 2025. He became the most expensive player in IPL history. His performance, however, was not upto the mark. With him as captain, the Lucknow team could not even reach the playoffs. Pant was able to score only 151 runs in 13 matches, with an average of 13.73 and a strike rate of 107.9. He couldn’t get into form during the season. He did hit a century in the last match, but still, the team lost.

Two new teams to join the second season of the Delhi Premier League
After the success of the first season, the biggest change this season is the addition of two new teams. According to reports, the new team ‘Outer Delhi’ has been bought by Savita Paints Private Limited for ₹10.6 crore, while the other new team ‘New Delhi’ has been purchased by Bhima Tolling and Traffic Solutions for ₹9.2 crore.
