Indian cricketing luminaries Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly went on a nostalgic and good-natured banter on social media following India authored a dominating effort on the first day of the first Test against England at Headingley. Sachin Tendulkar celebrated the centurys of these two youngsters, and compared them to the twin classic centuries of the Headingley Test in the year 2002 when he (193), Ganguly (128) and Rahul Dravid (148) scored three-digit scores as India dominated during the first innings.
In that memorable claim, India had scored a massive total and recorded a memorable innings and 46 runs-win. Ganguly hit back with a humorous turn and said that this year the surface is more batsmen-friendly than in 2002 and four centurions might end up in India. He listed out Pant and Karun Nair as the potential additions to the list.

Highlights Of The Day 1 Of The First Test
India captain Shubman Gill marked an century as the visitors slumped a total of 359/3 in the opening day of the 1 st Test versus England at Leeds. Gill and deputy Rishabh Pant were unconquered on 127 and 65 respectively. By the end of the first session, the centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by Ben Stokes. At lunch-time India had been 92/2 with the duo of Gill and Jaiswal getting the support of each other getting towards their fifty. During the first match, Jaiswal and KL Rahul had scored the opening partnership of 91 runs at Headingley. England reversed the game during the session as they ended up the session well taking two wickets within five balls. India debutant Sai Sudharsan was found out as he was bowled out on four balls hence spoiling a fine start.
