Former India captain and current BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly, has announced that Virat Kohli would have scored runs had he been playing in this series against England. Kohli has just retired in Tests just before the much-needed tour of England. Ganguly had made these remarks after Kohli retired to the game saying that it surprised him since he had anticipated that the star player could play with age and fitness on his side. Recently, he mentioned that had he gone to England, Kohli would have scored much.
Sourav Ganguly’s Statement
“I would say it’s very irrelevant. My terms, someone else’s terms. As a player, you understand. As a player everyone understands where he stands at the moment. Just look at Virat. Everybody says why. I know he didn’t have the best five years in Test cricket but champions like him rediscover. And I guarantee that if he was on this tour of England, he would have scored runs. But he felt it was time to go,” Ganguly told PTI.
