Deepti Sharma Eyes Glory: India Star Spinner Is Just One Step Away From Becoming World No.1 T20I Bowler!

Indian off-spinner Deepti Sharma has reached the second spot in the ICC Women's T20 International bowling rankings.

Indian off-spinner Deepti Sharma has reached the second spot in the ICC Women’s T20 International bowling rankings. This way, she is on the verge of becoming the No. 1 ranked bowler of her career for the first time. Deepti enhanced her ranking after grabbing three wickets in the third of the five-match T20I series against England. She now has 738 rating points—just eight behind Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal, who tops the table with 746 points.

In the last six years, Deepti has consistently been among the top 10 T20I bowlers but never No. 1 even with her consistent performances. In the recent ICC update, Deepti has jumped one position, pushing Australia’s fast bowler Annabel Sutherland to second position. The right-arm off-spinner has now a golden chance to move to the number one position by playing well in the next two matches of the series against England.

Among the batters, Jemimah Rodrigues has moved up two spots to 12th spot following a half-century in the second match of the series against Bristol. No other changes were made to the batting rankings in the top 10. Australian batter Beth Mooney remains at No. 1 with 794 rating points.
