The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is set to resume later this week, with games set to resume on Thursday or Friday, May 15 or 16, as per a report by the Times of India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is finalizing the new schedule for the rest of the tournament.
Revised Fixtures Across India, Except Dharamsala
Though matches are to be held at different venues around the nation, Dharamsala is said not to feature in the new list of host cities. The reason for the exclusion has not been made public.
How Will Ceasefire Violation Affect IPL
The tournament was earlier put on hold after an increase in cross-border tensions. With the situation now improving, the BCCI has taken steps to resume the competition. Since, Pakistan has violated the ceasefire, there can be a delay in starting of IPL 2025 as the situation is constantly aggravating and if the tensions/conflict doesn’t come under control the BCCI will have very little say. The final decision will only come once it is approved by the government and all the stakeholders.

Overseas Players to Return
A number of foreign players had left India during the uncertainty and increasing geopolitical tensions, especially concerned about air travel disruptions at airports. But franchises are now gearing up to bring back their overseas players as normalcy sets in.
“Yes the overseas players were panicking but it was more because of the airport shutdown and all. They patiently listened to the franchises and had full confidence but it was the fear of international airports getting shut which triggered a lot of panic,” told a source to Times of India (TOI) tracking developments.
