IPL 2025 To Get Cancelled? BCCI Not Wanting To Take Any Risk After India-Pakistan Tensions Get Extremely Heated: Report

As tensions on the India–Pakistan border escalated on Thursday evening, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has adopted a careful “wait-and-watch” policy on the future of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The rising security fears have unsettled many overseas players, with many of them reportedly asking to be flown back to their respective countries.

Foreign Players Want To Go Back Home

“Reliable IPL sources have revealed that foreign recruits want to head home at the earliest,” reported news agency PTI.

“We are reviewing the situation right now. It is an evolving situation. We haven’t received any directive from the government. Obviously the decision will be taken keeping all the logistics in mind,” IPL chairman Arun Dhumal told PTI

“Yes it is on as of now but obviously it is an evolving situation and any decision will be taken keeping the best interest of all stakeholders in mind,” he said.

PBKS Vs DC Match Gets Cancelled

The match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was brought to an abrupt stop. There was a power outage at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, and the match was officially abandoned with security issues being the main reason. Devajit Saikia of the IPL Governing Council released a statement about the match’s cancellation. He reiterated that the security of players, officials, and spectators was still the number one priority in the face of the changing security scenario.
