IND Vs AUS: ‘Last Laugh’ For Mitchell Starc After Yashasvi Jaiswal Gets A ‘Bitter Lesson’

Justin Langer pointed out that one of the hardest lessons he learned in cricket is that bowlers, in the end, always get the last laugh.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s pink-ball Test debut in Adelaide got off to a nightmare start as he was dismissed for a duck, India opted to bat and Jaiswal faced Mitchell Starc, whose swing on the ball came way too late and trapped Jaiswal in front of the stumps. This was the third time in his career that Starc had taken a wicket off the first ball of a Test innings, and on this occasion, it was Jaiswal, who had been in top form with a brilliant 161 in the previous Test at Perth.

But there was an interesting twist to the dismissal, as Starc was in a tizzy after getting the wicket of Jaiswal with an excellent reason. Earliest in the series, Jaiswal had taunted Starc while scoring his century that he is “too slow”.

Justin Langer On Jaiswal’s Early Wicket

Without taking much time, social media users, especially the former Australia Opener Justin Langer, called him out for saying all this. Speaking to Star Sports, Langer pointed out that one of the hardest lessons he learned in cricket is that bowlers, in the end, always get the last laugh.

“One thing I’ve learnt at a very young age (is that) bowlers always get the last laugh. Eventually, you’re going to get out,” Langer said.
