On the last day of second Test, England has to score more than 500 runs but they fell short by a huge margin as India’s bowlers were absolutely fantastic. Akashdeep registered his first fifer in England and completely wrecked havoc on field. It was a complete team effort and Indian outshone England in both batting and bowling. Akashdeep stole the spotlight in second Test, he came in as the replacement of Jasprit Bumrah and took 10 wickets in single Test. He proved that picking him was the right decision and his significant contribution completely swept away England’s batting lineup.

Post India’s win in Birmingham, Shubman Gill opened up about the victory and was absolutely happy to register his first win as India’s Test captain also.

“All the things we spoke about after the first game, we were spot on. Our bowling and fielding was tremendous to see. We knew if we get 400-500 on this kind of wicket, we’ll be in the game. Not everytime we’re going to drop that many catches. He bowled with so much heart. The areas and lengths he hit, he was getting the ball to move both ways. On wickets like this, it’s difficult to do that. I’d say I’m feeling comfortable with my game. If we win the series with my contributions, I’ll feel happier. I’ve said this before, want to play as a batsman, think as a batsman. Definitely (Bumrah back at Lord’s?). Very excited for it. Possibly the most iconic stadium in the world. As a kid you dream of it.”
