Chhath Puja 2022: The preparations of Chhath Puja are currently in full gear following Diwali. On the sixth day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month, the sacred festival of Chhath Puja is held. It is also known as Surya Shashthi. The Chhath Puja will take place this year from October 28 to October 31. Along with the Sun God and Shashthi Maiya, Lord Shiva is worshipped at Chhath Puja.
One of the most blessed festivals in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Eastern Uttar Pradesh is Chhath Puja. Nepal also practises it extensively. The ceremony of “Nahai Khai” marks the beginning of the four-day festival, which concludes with “Usha Arghya” (prayers to the rising sun). This involves a Nirjala fast of 36 hours.
