In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman was killed by her husband in Maharashtra’s Sangli district on Thursday morning.
Accused hit the woman with Bamboo stick
According to the Free Press Journal, the deceased has been identified as Shilwanti Pail, and the accused has been identified as Pintu Patil. The accused hit the victim with a bamboo stick on her head in a fit of rage. Later, he fled the crime scene with their two kids.
The police said Pintu, a native of Huljanti village, had been living in Sangli for the past few years, and working as a labourer. Pintu was married to Shilwanti, and the couple was settled in Hanumannagar in Sangli with their two children, Maharashtra Times reported.
Victim left home and had gone to stay with sister in Pune
According to reports, the couple often got involved in an argument in the past few days. Shilwanti left Pintu’s home on June 13 and had gone to stay with her sister in Pune. When Pintu did not find her, he filed a complaint of missing with the police.
Police launched a probe
Recently, Shilwanti returned home, but she did not inform the police. On June 26, Pintu hit her with a bamboo stick and locked the shed from outside before fleeing the spot. The police launched a probe into the matter.
Delhi: Man pushes girl off rooftop in Jyoti Nagar area
In a separate incident, a 26-year-old man was apprehended for allegedly pushing a girl off the rooftop in the Jyoti Nagar area, said the Delhi police.
The accused was identified as Taufeeq (26), a resident of Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh.
According to Delhi Police, the complaint about the incident was filed at the Jyoti Nagar Police Station on June 23, wherein it was stated that a girl had fallen off a rooftop. Subsequently, multiple teams of the Gokulpuri subdivision and the Operations unit of the NE District were deployed along with the team of PS Jyoti Nagar.”
“The joint efforts of the teams resulted in the arrest of the accused in the late hours of June 24. The accused was identified as Taufeeq from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh,” said the police.
