“I was blamed for Pahalgam and now the whole world knows my name”- Top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander and one of the key plotters behind the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, Saifullah Kasuri, made inflammatory remarks against India during a rally in Lahore on Wednesday. Kasuri stood alongside Talha Saeed- Hafiz Saeed’s son and a US-designated terrorist- on stage with Malik Ahmad Khan, the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly. All three were seen delivering speeches laced with anti-India rhetoric. Saifullah Kasuri had earlier disclaimed responsibility for the slaughter in Pahalgam.
Shocking new terror links have surfaced, highlighting growing concerns over recent developments. During a rally, Talha Saeed openly praised Pakistan’s so-called Bunyan al-Marsoos operation, which was reportedly carried out in retaliation for India’s Operation Sindoor. He declared, “Allah loves those who engage in jihad,” as Saifullah Kasuri and others on stage applauded and expressed their support.
Kasuri Makes Provocative Remarks Against PM Modi
While spewing venom against India, He attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Narendra Modi samajhta hai hum goliyon se darne wale hain? Ye uski bhool hai (Modi is mistaken if he thinks we are scared of bullets),” he said. Which experts believe, it was a response to PM Modi’s speech at the Bhuj rally earlier this week. PM had said that “Pakistan should be ready to face India’s bullets if it did not stop using terror as a weapon.” Malik Rasheed, a close associate of Shehbaz Sharif, said that “24 crore Pakistanis are represented today by people like Hafiz Saeed and Saifullah Kasuri.” He also mentioned that the Sharif government plans to give a job to the brother of a Lashkar commander who was killed in India’s attack on the LeT headquarters in Muridke.
Who Is Saifullah Kasuri?
Saifullah Kasuri, also known as Saifullah Khalid or Saifullah Sajid Jutt, is a senior leader and deputy head of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a terrorist group based in Pakistan. He is closely connected to Hafiz Saeed, the founder of LeT and a UN-listed terrorist responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Reports also suggest that he is the son of Hafiz Saeed. Kasuri is believed to be the main planner behind the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, in Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people, most of them tourists, in the Baisaran meadow.
The attack was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a LeT offshoot co-founded by Kasuri to provide plausible deniability for Pakistan’s involvement in cross-border terrorism.
Kasuri, a native of Shangamanga village in Pakistan’s Punjab province, is reported to have coordinated the Pahalgam attack, leveraging his role in overseeing LeT’s operational strategies and TRF’s activities in the Kashmir Valley. He has strong connections with Pakistan’s military and its intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He is said to have visited army bases in Pakistan, including one in Kanganpur, Punjab, where he gave speeches aimed at encouraging soldiers. Kasuri is also connected to terror training camps in Abbottabad, where fighters are trained for attacks across the border. Although he denied any role in the Pahalgam attack in a video, saying Indian media falsely accused him, his public speeches and calls for jihad do not support his claims.
Leadership Roles Of Kasuri
Kasuri has held key positions in Lashkar-e-Taiba’s political and charity groups. In 2017, he was president of the Milli Muslim League (MML) and was also part of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa Coordination Committee for Central Punjab. He is known for living a lavish lifestyle, often seen travelling in luxury cars with heavy security provided by LeT members carrying modern weapons. Indian intelligence agencies believe he receives strong backing from Pakistan’s military, raising concerns about terrorism supported by the state aimed at India.
