During the night of May 7 and 8, the Pakistani army repeatedly breached Indian airspace across the western border in an attempt to strike military installations. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated, “The school was fortunately closed, otherwise more losses would have occurred. Pakistan is targeting and shelling places of worship with a particular design, including gurdwaras, churches and temples. This is a new low even for Pakistan.”

According to Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Pakistan breached Indian airspace using Turkish-manufactured Asisguard Songar drones. She stated that the drones were deployed as part of a larger military initiative known as Operation Sindoor. This development follows the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, adding to the rising tensions between the two countries.
