During his address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, "Pakistan went to the world seeking help. After being hit badly, Pakistan military contacted our DGMO on May 10th..."
PM Narendra Modi LIVE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 8 PM after the DGMO-level talk between India and Pakistan. Earlier today, the joint Press Briefing was held by all three services of the Country. During the briefing, several details were shared by the Ministry of Defence. The Armed forces on Monday displayed a video that showed the destruction to Pakistani ordinance in the strikes. Director General Air Operations (DGAO) Air Marshal AK Bharti detailed the success of the Indian Armed Forces’ Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, targeting nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK). While addressing a press conference, Air Marshal AK Bharti emphasised that the Indian Armed Forces’ fight was solely against terrorists and their support networks, not the Pakistani military.
In a major development amid the India-Pakistan ceasefire, the Indian armed forces held a joint press conference on Sunday. They detailed the sequence of events from the launch of Operation Sindoor to the war-like situation that unfolded after India avenged the Pahalgam terror attack. The Indian Army said that 35-40 personnel of the Pakistan Army had been killed at the Line of Control between May 7 and May 10. DGMO Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai have also hinted at a war-like situation for the last few days. The Indian Army also displayed before-and-after pictures of terror sites destroyed in Pakistan and PoK.
Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai said that many terror camps were identified for targeting in Operation Sindoor. Afterwards, there was a careful scrutiny to finalise the targets. “There are nine camps that you are now familiar with, which were confirmed by our various intelligence agencies to be inhabited. Some of these were in PoJK, while there were others that were located in the Punjab province of Pakistan… What followed was a careful scrutiny of these locations.” According to Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, ‘Operation Sindoor’ was conceptualised with a clear military aim.
Vice Admiral A N Pramod said: “Navy’s Carrier Battle Group (CBG), surface forces, submarines, and aviation assets were immediately deployed at sea with full combat readiness in consort with the joint operation plan of the Indian Defence Forces.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the nation. This much-anticipated speech is his first since India’s strong response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists on April 22. In the aftermath of the attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation led to the neutralisation of over 100 terrorists. Pakistan responded with an attempted counter-attack, which was successfully intercepted by Indian forces.
