Monsoon LIVE Update: Heavy rains across multiple states until June 30 are expected to disrupt traffic and bring a halt to daily activities. In its latest press release, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the southwest monsoon has further advanced over the remaining parts of the north Arabian Sea; some more parts of Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab.
The Weather Department predicted that the monsoon would reach Delhi in the next 24 hours. Notably, light to moderate rainfall is expected at most/many places during the next 7 days. A warning has been issued for intense downpours over Konkan, Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Saurashtra, and Kutch from 26th June to 1st July. However, at some places the weather looks pleasant for outdoor activities. The morning in Bengaluru is expected to start cool, and during the noon, a cloud cover will help in moderating the heat.
On the other hand, residents of Gujarat are not advised to leave their umbrellas at home. The other affected plans where torrential rain activities will be witnessed are Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Uttar Pradesh during 26th June-1st July; Rajasthan during 26th-29th; Jammu-Kashmir on 26th-27th; East Uttar Pradesh during 28th June-1st July.
As the month comes to a close, isolated heavy rainfall is also expected to lash Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh during 26th June-1st July; Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal during 26th-28th, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar during 27th June-1st July.
