A five-year-old girl sustained bite marks to her face and internal injuries in her private parts after a 17-year-old boy allegedly raped her inside an abandoned house in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, said officials.
The incident came to light when her family members spotted her lying unconscious, and they rushed her to a nearby private hospital where doctors performed surgery on her private parts.
According to reports, doctors had to place 28 stitches on her private parts and conducted a complex procedure to save the girl.
Police said the girl resides with her family members in Shivpuri district. On February 22 when the minor was on the terrace of her home, the neighbourhood boy, 17, called her to an abandoned house where he brutally raped her and slammed her head against the wall.
It was suspected that the boy was in an inebriated condition when he committed the crime, police said. Survivor’s family members demanded strict action against the suspect. They told local media that the suspect should be hanged or shot dead in an encounter.
Police said that the juvenile suspect was arrested, and he was booked on charges of rape. Following the incident, a large-scale protest erupted in Shivpuri, and local politicians, including residents, approached the district administration and senior police officials office, demanding strict action against the boy. Further investigation is underway in the case.
