Huge traffic at Airport: In response to the increased traffic at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, Air India issued a travel advisory advising passengers to arrive at least 3.5 hours before domestic departures and 4 hours before international departures.

The airline said that the Delhi airport was experiencing higher-than-usual traffic, Huge traffic at Airport, and passengers are advised to arrive at least 3.5 hours before their domestic flight time and 4 hours before their international flight time, and to bring only one piece of cabin baggage for a smooth security check. “We request that our passengers complete web check-in for faster boarding,” the statement said.

Domestic carrier InidiGo advised passengers earlier on Tuesday to arrive at the airport at least 3.5 hours before domestic departures and to bring only one piece of hand baggage weighing 7 kg for a smooth security check.

The airline stated that the Delhi airport was experiencing high traffic, and that check-in and boarding times would be longer than usual. It also advised passengers to enter through gates 5 and 6 at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3, as these are closest to the IndiGo check-in counters.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture summoned the CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) and others on Tuesday, December 15, following reports of passenger congestion at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.

According to officials, the Ministry of Civil Aviation ordered various decongestion measures at the IGIA on Saturday. The decision was made in response to numerous complaints about massive traffic congestion, including on social media.

Many poassengers even hoped for a surprise check from the Union minister at the national capital’s airport.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia paid a surprise visit to the airport on Monday, inspecting all allegedly congested areas and interacting with airport personnel.
